Chié Shimizu

Chié Shimizu was born in Japan and works predominantly in the medium of sculpture with Japanese-style painting. Shimizu earned her BFA from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1993, and a MFA in sculpture from the New York Academy of Art in 2001. Her work has been exhibited in numerous venues throughout the United States including the Island Weiss Gallery, Mark Miller Gallery, Dillon Gallery, Booth Gallery, WhiteBox Harlem, NowHere Gallery, and is held in private collections worldwide. She currently lives and works in Queens, New York.
