Tap your feet, clap your hands, dance, and sing along as a talented quartet leads you through a fun and interactive play-along experience. Join the family fun designed for music enthusiasts of all ages as East End Jazz musicians create a memorable afternoon of music, laughter, and connection Led by vocalist Olivia Foschi, bassist Iris Ornig, pianist Cecilia Coleman, and drummer Brian Woodruff, participants will learn about the building blocks of jazz through call and response exercises, movement-based lessons, improvisation techniques and more. No prior musical experience is necessary!

Join the fun and spark your creativity in an immersive community atmosphere as experienced educators and established performers inform and delight! Feel the rhythm. Groove to the movement.  Create lasting memories with loved ones.

And don’t let the fun end there! Later in the evening East End Jazz will present a concert goes Around the World, exploring the magic of Jazz. Join us for both experiences with one of our Ticket Passes. 

  • “Shaping the future with Jazz, improvisation, and freedom” East End Jazz is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and expanding the world of jazz. Through educational programs, performances, and community outreach, they strive to inspire and engage audiences of all ages. 

IRIS ORNIG & OLIVIA FOSCHI

Bassist, Founder, Director & Vocalist

  • A rising star on the New York jazz scene, bassist, composer, and arranger Iris Ornig is known for her innovative approach to the instrument. Her original compositions blend European tradition with modern jazz, and she has collaborated with many influential musicians. Ornig’s performances are characterized by her exceptional musicianship and charismatic stage presence.  

    Iris Ornig is the Founder and Director of East End Jazz, a newly established charitable nonprofit organization located in Suffolk. EEJ is dedicated to bringing jazz and its heritage to the community through interactive workshops, performances, and other educational programs.

  • Olivia Foschi, a versatile Jazz vocalist and composer, seamlessly blends diverse musical influences, from classical Nepali voice to modern jazz. With degrees in English Literature and jazz performance, she has performed and recorded with renowned musicians on stages worldwide. As a dedicated educator, Foschi has taught jazz voice at prestigious institutions, sharing her passion for the music.  

CECILIA COLEMAN

PIANIST

  • Cecilia Coleman is a talented jazz pianist and big band leader. Born in California, she began her musical journey at a young age and has performed with numerous groups in New York City. Her big band has been recognized as a rising star by Down Beat magazine. Coleman also teaches jazz piano at Lehigh University.

BRIAN WOODRUFF

DRUMMER

  • Drummer Brian Woodruff, a versatile musician with a strong background in both traditional and contemporary jazz, has performed with a wide range of artists. From jazz legends to contemporary musicians, Woodruff’s drumming has graced stages across the globe. He is also an educator and a founding member of the Queens Jazz OverGround, actively contributing to the New York jazz scene.
