Treating songwriting as a craft and more than just an art form, Torres began redefining her skills as she separated from the polished commercial songwriting she learned in university and began carving out her own unique sound. TORRES is the pseudonym of Mackenzie Scott. She has been releasing albums and performing under the moniker since 2013. Originally from Macon, GA, she moved from Nashville to Brooklyn following the release of her debut album, where she still resides with her wife, Jenna, and Setpson, Silas. Her sixth studio album, What an Enormous Room, was delivered in January via Merge Records, and she has toured extensively across the US and Europe in support of the record.
