Quincy Flowers

Quincy Flowers is a writer who lives in Brooklyn, NY. He holds graduate degrees from creative writing programs at the University of Houston and NYU, where he received a New York Times Fellowship. Awards include a grant from the Ludwig-Vogelstein Foundation and a residency at the Headlands Center for the Arts. He often writes in conversation with artists for publication and performance. Recent collaborations and contributions include Saya Woolfalk (Field Notes from the Empathic Universe), Justin Hicks / The Hawtplates (Water Boy and the Mighty World), and Kehinde Wiley (Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic).
During his residency, Flowers will continue research and development of a fictional narrative that documents a protagonist’s journey of founding an African American resort in 1960’s Canebrake, Georgia.
