In conjunction with our Spring exhibition, Return to A Place By the Sea, that features works by Nanette Carter, Gregory Coates, Al Loving, and Frank Wimberley, The Church welcomed artist Gregory Coates as February's featured artist for our Insight Sunday series. Coates has four works dating from 1998-2019 included in the exhibition, which is on view from February 5th through May 21st. The show revisits and recontextualizes the 1999 exhibition, A Place By the Sea, highlighting the works and friendship between the four artists. One of Coates's works, Shiroco, was part of the original 1999 show. Coates's other works demonstrate his continuing interest in experimenting and presentation.
