Tickets

In his “Fast Foreward” to his book with Ram Das, Polishing the Mirror, coauthor Rameshwar Das says, “May we treat ourselves with a degree of compassion and patience equal to [Ram Dass], and not take ourselves too seriously. There is, after all, nothing to be accomplished. We are just allowing ourselves to be.”

Join us for our first Knowledge Friday of the summer with one of our esteemed local members of the community as he shares his practice of integrating spirituality and life, and reflections on his time spent with his friend and teacher, Ram Dass, of the 70’s classic, BE HERE NOW.

Following the discussion there will be a Q&A with the speaker. What will you ask?

  • Rameshwar Das was a student of Ram Dass from 1968 until his death in 2019. Rameshwar grew up as a summer kid in Amagansett (born 1947) and has lived here full-time since returning from India in 1972, starting a family with Kate Rabinowitz in 1996. He has worked as a photographer, and co-authored three books with Ram Dass, leads meditation, gardens, and serves on non-profit boards and a Town coastal committee. In 2013 their 14-year-old daughter was killed on her bike in East Hampton, a cataclysmic turning point for Ramesh and his family. Ramesh continues to work to integrate spirituality, art, life experience, and service.
