In response to increased popularity and demand, we are excited to announce that there are now 2 different levels for the program: INTRO and ADVANCED. This is an ADVANCED session for participants who have taken attended a minimum of TWO Open Studio – Monotype Printmaking sessions at The Church.

Lambert Moss, singer, storyteller, and performer extraordinaire, coming all the way from San Francisco to enchant Sag Harbor with a two-night run of a holiday-infused cabaret show! Created exclusively for The Church, Lambert’s show will take you back to the golden days of New York’s cabaret nightclub scene. An intimate evening of jazz standards, surprising twists on classics, and a sprinkle of holiday tunes, Lambert’s silky vocal styling will be accompanied by the incomparable Nicolas Perez on the keys.

SUSAN MEISELAS in dialogue with LINDSAY MORRIS
Susan Meiselas is one of the most celebrated photographers of our time. Known for her ground-breaking photography in Latin America and around the world, Meiselas’s work has garnered the first Women in Motion Award from Kering and the Rencontres d’Arles in 2019 and is currently the subject of a traveling retrospective exhibition. Lindsay Morris is a published photographer whose work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, and Vanity Fair, among others. Her work reaches beyond photography and in October of this year, she will take the stage as a TEDWomen Speaker. Come hear Susan and Lindsay in dialogue and learn the art of documenting human stories.
A Dramatic Reading of “Dolphins and Sharks” written by James Anthony Tyler
Yusuf studies philosophy. Xiomara is ambitious. Isabel keeps it real. Come and learn about these complex characters and more in a live reading of Dolphins and Sharks, a play written by playwright James Anthony Tyler. Tyler returns to The Church after his residency in October, to present a dramatic reading for the community of a play that speaks to our current working conditions. Featuring an outstanding cast of actors including Tina Fabrique as Amenze Amen, Angela Reynoso as Xiomara, Pernell Walker as Isabel, among others.
Knowledge Friday & Curatorial Tour with Jennifer Tripp and Mark Lubell
Jennifer Tripp & Mark Lubell, esteemed experts in the world of fine art photography and co-curators of the photography component of our Fall Exhibition will share their reflections and lead a tour of their contribution to RE:CYCLE: The Ubiquitous Bike. Join us as they give a curatorial tour that explores the works in the show and discuss their experience of life and work, leading to their relocation to Sag Harbor!

The Markers Market will be held over Saturday, November 25th and Sunday, November 26th, from 11 AM – 5 PM and each afternoon at 1 PM, a community sing-along will be held in the parking lot. Take a break from shopping, and relish in the magic of community bonding and song like we’re in a real-life Hallmark film. No need to be a professional singer, this sing-along is for all lovers of holiday, community, and song.

With 25 unique local merchants in the market, you’ll have no trouble finding special gifts for your loved ones.

EVERYONE IS IN THE BAND: KIRTAN with TIM & SITA KADASH, November’s Wellness Wednesday
Tim Kadash and his daughter Sita Kadash invite you to join us at The Church for a morning of meditative song and relaxation, as they lead us in Kirtan. Guiding you through chanting, breath, poetry, and song, Tim and Sita will immerse you in the ancient tradition that has the ability to quiet and uplift the mind, open the heart, and invoke inner awareness, peace, and joy. Late Night Open Studio
The Church is passionate about welcoming artists to its space and establishing an oasis for creative inspiration and connection. The Church’s bi-monthly Late Night Open Studio is back! Artists of all mediums are invited to join, socialize, and work on any projects, whether past or current. Think coffee shop or a library for creatives, for moments when you would rather work in a community environment as opposed to alone in your studio or home. Attendees are responsible for bringing all their own supplies (including easels!).

Una Noche Espectacular is a collaboration between Tu Prensa Local, a Spanish language, non-profit media organization that provides news, resources, and information to the Latinx community, and The Church in celebration of Latino culture and community.

Tu Prensa Local, a Spanish-language, nonprofit, nonpartisan media organization serves the Latinx community as a provider of news, resources, and information. They are the only Spanish nonprofit news organization on Long Island and are the leading Spanish News organization focusing on the East End. Did you know that the East End is home to nearly 37,000 Latinos? 23% of our local population and 20% of Long Island’s 2.9 million population are Latino.

MONSTER SMASH: A Costumed Dance Party! This Year’s Theme: The Sporting Life!
We did the MASH, we did the MONSTER SMASH! Calling all witches and warlocks on the East End, we invite you to ‘COME AS YOU AREN’T’ to The Church’s annual fall fundraiser, MONSTER SMASH, a Halloween dance party. The evening returns in a slightly pared-down but still spooky fashion. Join us on the dance floor with music from the one and only MISTER LAMA, whose 70s/80s hits you’ve boogied to at The Church before. Enjoy some light bites from a festive grazing table prepared by East Hampton Kitchen with beer and wine from your local favorites.
Children’s Spooky Story Hour with Adriana Devers
Award-winning author, poet, and creative Adriana Devers will be the featured reader for The Church’s Children’s Spooky Story Hour. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Devers will read her award-winning bilingual children’s book Mi Chiquitica en Luna Llena My Little One in Full Moon, a beautifully illustrated book that presents a mother’s description of her child while referencing their Afro-Caribbean cultural identity and family values, and ¡Todos a bailar!, which follows two little ones, singing, dancing, exploring their culture, and celebrating their identity as they get ready for a big party.
Costumes are encouraged and festive light refreshments will be provided!

Intro to Breaking with Ivan ‘Heat Rock’ Cofield
Break it down with Ivan ‘Heat Rock’ Cofield! Heat Rock first premiered his style at The Church during LayeRhythm’s Jam Session this past January and has returned to lead an introductory course on the fundamental movements, styles, and ideas behind Breaking. Each session will include detailed group instruction by Heat Rock, demonstrations of movements and style, and access to a lecture on the history and development of Breaking. The lecture portion of this workshop has been strategically placed between the two sessions so that both groups may attend.
Come Along for A UBIQUITOUS BIKE RIDE! (CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER)
Inspired by our fall exhibition, RE:CYCLE– The Ubiquitous Bike, we hope you’ll strap on your helmets and join us for The Ubiquitous Bike RIDE! Cyclists Jerry Brown and Lois Peltz have over 30 years of experience giving group bike rides to the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society— with routes spanning from the South Fork to the North Fork and even Shelter Island. Jerry and Lois have generously donated their time to take The Church community out for a 2 ½ hour ride around Shelter Island at a leisurely pace of 10 mph. Tickets are extremely limited— get them while you can!
